Trayodashang Guggulu is an Ayurvedic herbal concoction made with Shuddha Guggulu or Commiphora Mukul and thirteen other ingredients which is why it is named ‘trayodashang.’ Majorly used for the treatment of joint-related disorders, Trayodashang has many therapeutic uses like treatment of chronic pain and extreme body weakness. Preparation Method
All the ingredients except Shuddha Guggulu and Ghee are taken in the aforementioned ratio. They are washed, dried and powdered; after which Shuddha Guggulu (6 parts) is added in crushed form. All the herbs are pounded together and ghee is slowly added during the pounding process until a smooth mixture is obtained. This mixture is then converted into vatis (tablets) of 500 mg or 1 g. The vati should then be stored in a dry and airtight container.

Dosage
The recommended dosage of Trayodashang Guggulu is 750 mg to 1.5 g two to three times a day. The Anupan or the fluid vehicle used with Trayodashang Guggulu can be milk, lukewarm water, maharasnadi kadha, meat soup or even alcohol depending upon the disease.

Side Effects And Precautions
Although there are no known side effects of this medicine, however, if not taken properly or taken in doses greater than the required dosage, it can cause belching and stomach irritation. Also, people with severe digestive disorders can face some difficulties like loss of appetite.
