Nagarjuna Psoria Oil Benefits For Psoriasis & Side Effects

Psoria oil is manufactured by Nagarjuna Ayurvedic group, Kerala. It is prepared using Wrightia tinctoria (which is also known as Shweta Khutaja in Sanskrit) leaves and Cocos nucifera oil both have medicinal properties and are used to treat many skin diseases and fungal infections. It is most commonly used in the treatment of Psoriasis.

Coconut contains Lauric, Caprylic & Capric acid. All three of these are extremely beneficial for skin diseases. 100 ml of Psoria oil is prepared out of

1. Wrightia tinctoria leaves (Hayamaraka Pathram) – 250 grams

2. Cocos nucifera oil (Kerajam) – 100 ml

Wrightia tinctoria leaves: Pala indigo plant or dyer’s oleander. It is a tridosha balancing herb and It is widely used in Indian system of medicine such as Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani for treatment of various ailments.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune condition (immune system mistakenly attacks your body) that causes rapid build up of skin cells causing scaling on the skin’s surface. It is a skin disorder that causes the skin cells to multiply ten times faster as compared to the normal rate which results in bumpy red patches all over the skin with white scales.

It commonly starts below the knees or elbows, in the scalp or back of the ears but can grow anywhere on the body. Psoriasis is a disease that can be transmitted from one person to another.

Wrightia Tinctoria has Anti-inflammation, Anti-fungal, Antibacterial properties that treat psoriasis and combined with Cocos nucifera it is widely used as a remedy for psoriasis. External application of the oil reduces the multiplication of keratinocytes (primary cell found in the epidermis).

Studies show that Wrightia Tinctoria has promising effect on dermatophytic and non-dermatophytic fungi. How to use Nagarjuna Psoria Oil?

1. Use lukewarm water to clean the affected area.

2. Apply oil on the affected area.

3. Avoid overuse. Follow the dose as per prescription.

4. In case of allergic reactions immediately consult your doctor.

5. It is recommended to have a patch test before using the product.

Dosage Information

External: Apply on affected area 40-60 minutes before bathing. Avoid using soap while bathing.

Internal: 5ml on empty stomach with 30 ml of hot water twice daily or as directed by the physician.

According to Ayurvedic principles it is best to apply the psoria oil before steam therapy.

For best results use daily for at least 1-2 months.

Other Similar Ayurvedic Preparations:

Another Similar preparation found in south India is 777 Oil which contains similar ingredients. This is a classical siddha preparation.

No known side effect has been encountered.

Precautions

1. Over-dosage may cause mild gastric irritation and indigestion.

2. Keep out of reach of children.

3. Store the oil in a cool dry place.

4. Pregnancy: If you have been using the oil before pregnancy without any allergic reactions you can safely use the oil during pregnancy. If you wish to start using the oil during pregnancy and have not used it anytime in past you should either consult a doctor or completely avoid using the oil as it can causes skin allergies in some rare cases.

5. Lactation: It is safe during lactation period, however to be extra sure consult your doctor.
